Happy Tequila Day 2020! It’s Friday and the start to the weekend we have all been looking forward to so why not get the blender ready for a frozen Margarita or slip slowly on the rocks on ice?
Gone are the days when tequila was just known for the shot to down on a night out after a few drinks. Tequila’s popularity is on the rise. And with good measure too. Some experts believe it’s good for your bones and aids digestion. I wonder how many people were thinking that when they were shopping for the spirit this week.? Waitrose alone saw a rise of 194% of sales in the last week.
And like most things, it all boils down to quality. Delving into research this week, I was again alerted to 1800® Tequila. 1800 is the year the world’s first premium tequila was born and for more than two hundred years it hasn’t wavered from its original formula and distillation process. As the saying goes “why fix it when it’s not broken” springs to mind.
If you like pretty classy things you will love the packaging for 1800® Tequila. The spirit comes in an iconic trapezoidal shape reminiscent of the centuries-old Mayan stone pyramids found throughout Mexico and dressed with a crest. I swear the bottle wouldn’t look out of place alongside my perfume ones.
So to celebrate National Tequila Day, diminish the thought of being forced to down a tequila shot and instead try out a recipe or two with a shot of tequila. For inspiration, hop on here to find a recipe to tantalise your taste buds. What a great way to end the working week by embracing this much-loved Mexican Spirit and trying your hand at perfecting a range of delicious tequila cocktails. I’ll raise my glass to that and my Mexican hat!
