No Cook Breakfast On The Go Go Go!

Written by Sabi Phagura on . Posted in Breakfast, Health

Has anyone noticed how cold it has got in the mornings? Brrr! I’m normally a morning persona and jump out of bed. But the cold mornings have got me snuggling deep under my duvet for those few extra minutes before mind-wrestling with the cold house. But I do like my breakfast so I try to make something nutritious to eat either the night before or something I can throw together in the morning that won’t take all that long at the crack of dawn.

Here are my five on-the-go no cook breakfasts that will help you stay energised regardless of the weather. So pressing that snooze button a few times won’t mean compromising with brekkie.

Boiled Eggs

Boil some eggs the night before and have them with a slice or two of bread or some chopped up avocado salad.

Overnight Oats

In a bowl mix half a cup of oats, half a cup of milk (soya, almond, cashew, hazelnut are great dairy alternatives) quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, pinch of salt and a natural sweetener like Truvia. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least eight hours. In the morning you can either eat it as it is or layer it with your favourite fruit like strawberries.

Fresh fruit and Greek Yogurt

This one couldn’t get easier. Throw some chopped up fruit in a bowl, add some thick creamy Greek yogurt, sprinkle some nuts and a dollop of honey. Mix together and enjoy

Green smoothie

Grab your Nutri-bullet or any other blender you have. Throw in some spinach leaves, broccoli, protein powder, ripe banana, a scoop of protein shake, water and blend. Alternatively use any fruit and vegetables of your choice together with the protein and you’ve got yourself a smoothie that will keep you full until lunchtime.

Avocado on Toast

Smash up half of an avocado, squeeze on some lemon juice, add a pinch of salt and pepper and chilli flakes. Mix all the ingredients together and spread over a couple of slices of toast or rice cakes.
