I write a lot about health and fitness especially when it comes to the body. That’s because when we think of health we normally just refer to the body. If we want to lose weight we simply try to follow a formula of eating less and exercising more without thinking about it. It’s like we get into ‘robot’ mode and just do it because we know that’s how to lose weight. But to really loses weight and keep it off we need to make good lifestyle choices. And those lifestyle choices are made with our thoughts. We have to change our thinking in order to lead healthy lifestyles forever.

Here’s a gadget that is taking the ‘slow eating’ message to a whole new level. The HAPIfork helps you eat more slowly thus improving digestion and portion control. The thinking is that you should only take a bite every 10-15 seconds to avoid over-eating.The fork buzzes if you eat any quicker. It was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and will be launched in the UK soon. Fork that!

Fizzy Drinks As Bad As Crack Cocaine

Stop! What’s that you’re drinking? If it’s a fizzy drink you may be damaging your health more than you think. A new study suggests diet and regular fizzy drinks are just as bad for your teeth as crack cocaine and meth. The study discovered that a woman in her 30s who drank two litres of diet fizzy daily for three to five years experienced tooth decay remarkably similar to that suffered by a 29-year-old methamphetamine addict and a 51-year-old habitual crack cocaine user.
