A Squeeky Clean Home During Lockdown

Written by Sabi Phagura on . Posted in Lifestyle and Beauty, Uncategorized

These days more than ever, thorough cleaning of our homes has become paramount. We understand the importance of keeping our homes in tip-top condition to keep the Coronovirus spread at bay. And as the lockdown has forced us all into our homes with little else to do, many of us have been using the time to do a spring clean.

I have always been a fan of cleaning because not only does it help me refresh my home but I find it a great way to reduce stress and anxiety and gives me a much-needed feeling of peace. The latter has been even more important during this global pandemic.

I have never paid much attention to the cleaning products I have been using over the years until said products flew off the shelf when panic buying began at the start of lockdown. I couldn’t for the life of me find anything decent to clean my home and so I searched online for household cleaning hacks and stumbled across many natural ways to clean my home. White wine vinegar, bicarbonate soda, lemon and essential oils were all up there as ingredients to use for a greener and healthier way of cleaning. Plus, they prove to be kinder to the wallet.

Still, sometimes you want a little helping hand and during my search for a reusable bottle to make my homemade cleaning concoctions, I stumbled across Squeeky Clean World. The Chippenham, Wiltshire based business sells a range of eco-friendly organic products. All their products are 100 per cent natural, chemical-free, vegan and pet safe. So, I decided to give them a go.

Out of their six cleaner solutions, I gave the Limescale Remover a go. Suitable for use in the bathroom and kitchen, the solution removes scum, soap and watermarks and can be used as a descaler too – perfect for my overused kettle! The concentrate solution comes in either two or four-dose refills alongside an aluminium Squeeky Life bottle. A larger 750ml plastic bottle is also available but this is being phased out by the end of the year.

Similar to the popular, Zafora, you mix the solution with water in the bottle and you’re good to go. Apart from the jazzy bottle, I enjoyed the cleaning power of the limescale remover. There was a pleasant smell, the product did what it said it was going to do and I felt it had a gentler effect on my hands. In fact, there is a customer testimonial on the company’s website who has had great results in healthy-looking skin since using the product.

Squeeky’s range of products includes a multi-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, surface polish and floor cleaner. They all come with their individual bottles with the solution. The company also sell natural, eco-friendly, reusable plastic-free cleaning accessories. You’ll also save money as a little goes a long way.

The company was started in 2016 by founder Claire Nicholas who hailed from an aromatherapy and holistic massage background. She knew the well-being benefits of essential oils when absorbed into the skin and wanted to use them in the products hence she went down the organic route. So, with the help of her local chemist and the cleaning team she started to experiment with cleaning products that would not only clean but also be kinder to your skin and the environment.

I will definitely be using Squeeky Clean World products alongside my home-made concoctions from now on. The advantages as listed above are a no-brainer. A clean home combined with a therapy session is a win-win situation for me.
